SCOTTSDALE, Arizona. (Sept. 1, 2007) – The Little Gym International, already one of the happiest places on Earth to its young
members who have fun while developing vital motor skills, is even more happy following the announcement that it will collaborate
with Walt Disney Pictures on its upcoming film, Enchanted. The film will open in theaters nationwide November 21.
"The Little Gym International has been approached by many reputable companies throughout our 30 years in business, but we
have always been very specific as to the quality of company with which we wanted to associate The Little Gym's internationally
recognized brand and name," said Bob Bingham, President and CEO of The Little Gym International.
"We believe Walt Disney Pictures mirrors our commitment to families and children with its wholesome entertainment,
and we are absolutely thrilled to enter into a promotional relationship with this outstanding company on this film."
Enchanted combines the classic Disney animated fairy tale with live-action comedy. It stars Amy Adams as a beautiful princess who is
banished from her magical, musical animated kingdom by an evil queen played by Susan Sarandon. When the princess lands in the gritty
reality of the streets of modern Manhattan, she finds herself adrift until she meets a divorce lawyer played by Patrick Dempsey with whom
she begins to fall in love. An even more entertaining and funny twist is added when the fairytale prince she is promised to, James Marsden,
comes looking for her in her new, not-so-storybook world.
In keeping with the fairytale theme of the movie, The Little Gym will feature Enchanted-themed classes for its members, promotional contests
and other activities to entertain children and parents in order to build anticipation for the film's release in November.
"The Little Gym's atmosphere is always upbeat and fun, but incorporating a unique twist with Walt Disney's Enchanted theme will add even more
excitement and activity to our programs that I know parents and children will love," said Bingham.
Enchanted was directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan, Eloise At Christmastime) from a screenplay written by Bill Kelly (Blast From the Past)
and will feature original songs from the reunited team of acclaimed composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz
(Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame).
The Little Gym concept was developed 30 years ago by Robin Wes, a kinesiologist and educator who conceived the idea of using gymnastics to help
children develop motor skills. The Little Gym promotes a fun and non-competitive environment where children develop vital motor skills
while also learning self-confidence and social skills. The concept has blossomed into a global company serving more than 100,000 children
each year between the ages of four months and 12 years old at more than 280 locations in 17 countries.
